On Tuesday, 24 March, selected Year 5 and 6 students proudly represented Parkerville Primary School at the Dockers Cup and Dockers Shield Carnivals. Supported by the Fremantle Dockers, these AFL football carnivals provided students with a fun, inclusive and competitive opportunity to showcase their skills and school pride.
The Dockers Cup girls’ carnival focused on encouraging participation, building confidence and developing AFL skills within a supportive and positive environment. The Dockers Shield boys’ carnival offered students the opportunity to compete at a higher level while continuing to strengthen teamwork, game understanding and sportsmanship.
Across both carnivals, students participated in a series of 20‑minute matches against schools from across the Perth metropolitan area. Throughout the day, they demonstrated strong football skills, built team spirit and camaraderie, and embraced the values of teamwork, respect and fair play.
Most importantly, the Dockers Cup and Shield Carnivals created positive and memorable sporting experiences, with students proudly displaying outstanding sportsmanship and our Parkerville ACE values. We are extremely proud of the effort, attitude and achievements of all our Year 5 and 6 athletes.
